Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Mythra uses cookies and similar technologies. It is part of, and should be read alongside, our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, or to work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site. The same principles apply to similar browser-storage technologies such as localStorage, which we also describe here.

2. The cookies and storage Mythra uses

Mythra uses only strictly necessary cookies and a small set of preference keys in your browser’s localStorage. We do not use any cookies for advertising, analytics, behavioural profiling, or third-party tracking.

Cookies (set by us or our processors):

NamePurposeDurationType
sb-* (Supabase Auth)Keeps you signed in. These tokens identify your session with Supabase, our authentication and database provider.Session + refresh windowStrictly necessary

Browser localStorage (stored on your device, never transmitted to us):

NamePurposeDurationType
mythra_cookies_choiceRemembers whether you accepted or dismissed the cookie notice so it does not re-appear.Until clearedStrictly necessary
mythra_active_world_idRemembers which world you had open last so it reopens automatically next time.Until clearedStrictly necessary
mythra_translator_history_*Stores the most recent phrases you have translated, per constructed language, so the translator panel can show your history.Until clearedStrictly necessary
lk_split_posRemembers the manuscript editor’s split-pane position between sessions.Until clearedStrictly necessary
lorekeeper:plot:viewModeRemembers which view you last used on the Plot board (e.g. grid vs. corkboard).Until clearedStrictly necessary
entry-section stateRemembers which wiki-entry sections you had expanded or collapsed. Keys are namespaced by entry ID.Until clearedStrictly necessary

3. Why we don’t need your consent for these

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (and the equivalent UK PECR), websites must get your consent before storing or accessing cookies on your device unless those cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested. Every cookie and storage key listed above falls into the strictly-necessary category — without them you couldn’t stay signed in, your preferences would reset every reload, and the editor wouldn’t remember where you left off. So we don’t ask you to opt in.

We show a cookie notice anyway, with both Accept and Reject options, to be transparent and to give you a real choice about acknowledging it.

4. How to manage or remove cookies

You can clear cookies and localStorage from your browser at any time using its built-in settings. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely. Because all of our cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent you from staying signed in or using the app properly — but you are free to do so.

5. Third-party cookies

Mythra does not embed third-party advertising, analytics, or social-media widgets, so no third party sets cookies through our site. The only cookies set on your device through Mythra come from Supabase, which acts as our data processor — see our Privacy Policy for details on our processors.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we add or remove cookies, or if applicable law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
